I Won!!!

My Alamo project won 4th place...All my hard work paid off! I made a grade of 105 on my Alamo and it went on to be judged(only the grades of 105 were judged) My Alamo won 4th place out of 12!!!

The AlamoMy project for school. This took a lot of my time to finish.
The project was to be done by myself.
I have tried lots of ideas to make this work out.

Spring Break was Awesome!!!

I had so much fun on Spring Break. We went with our friends to Lake Murray, Oklahoma and stayed in a cabin big enough for all 10 of us.

I fished and played horshoes, cooked some of our dinners on the BBQ Pit and hiked.
I got to get out in a kayak all by myself, with Todd's supervision, of course. That was the most fun! It was pretty easy for me. I loved being out on the water all alone.

I played football with my Dad and Todd.

That was the best Spring Break ever!!!!!!

Hard Work

My Grandparents wanted to take down a few trees.
Sounds pretty easy, right?
This tree wasn't budging. So, we got the tractor.
Not so tough now, huh?
So, we took down the one beside it too.
Little trees, big stubborn roots.

I'm so excited...

Well, I crossed my fingers and prayed real hard(by the way, if you also prayed for me, I really do appreciate it) and the weather was BEAUTIFUL yesterday. We were able to go to our "out of town" game and I played two doubles matches (with my best friend-1st time we were paired together)and we WON!!! Yep, we won BOTH matches. First match was 6-4 and the sencond match was 7-5. I had so much fun! We didn't get home until 8pm. I was tired and but still very excited! When I win a match(single or double) my parents always suprise me with a treat in honor of my win...last night I went to Braum's for a hot fudge sundae! YUM-YUM! Next week we have an off week, no games schuduled but we are suppose to play the week after. I can't wait!!!

Just A Little Bummed...

I have been looking forward to playing tennis again since the Christmas break. Mostly, because I love playing tennis but also because I wanted to blog about it. But I have only played one tennis match since the new year started. Can you believe this...one out of four games?! !
It seems like every single week some different type of weather cancels out our games. There was a tornado, rain, and even fog that stopped us from playing. I am really getting annoyed with these canceled games. I just want to play tennis!!! I am really keeping my fingers crossed that next week there will be beautiful weather so I can finally play another match. By the way, I lost my one and only match of the year, so far. Thanks for listening!

I think I have the best collections...

I started collecting hot wheels when I was a baby. My mom gave me her set of hot wheels from when she was little(at least 150) that we use as an outside set. My set is strictly inside cars. I am still adding to this collection(around 120 of my own)!

My mom also helped me start collecting stamps since I was three years old. I am not as intrested in this collection as I am the others. I am thinking about giving the stamp collection to Hayley.

My mom gave me a collection of baseball cards that she collected when she was younger. I have just started adding my own collection to it over the past few years. The front of this book is mine(about 20 pages, the rest are from the collection my mom had.)

My favorite collection is the baseBALL collection. This is new and fun. They are hard to find and are more special because of what is on them. And it is all mine, not a handed down collection that someone else started.

Do you have a collection of something?

New Year's Day

New Year's Day we went to my grandparents house to celebrate the day. We have some traditions that we keep every year. One is my Grandfather's homemade chili. This year he shared the recipe with ME.I spent the whole day with him writing down everything we added to his Big pot. I know lots of new things about cooking and about listening to story's he shared with me. It was cold outside but the chili smelled so good!
We did not eat our chili(that weighed 40 lbs. when we were done)for lunch. Grandma was inside making our black-eyed peas, fried cabbage and homemade sausage balls. Another tradition! But that chili was perfect at supper.

My New Helicopter

For Christmas I got a cool helicopter. We took it out on Christmas day while all our grandparents were there and I was very dissappointed! I didn't know it had to be charged first. We played with it a little anyway but couldn't really get it off the ground.
So, I charged it and took it out a few days later and it really flew. It was awesome! It flew all the way down to the end of our street and landed on a moving truck at the apartments and some kids climbed up and got it and were playing with it by the time my dad and I ran down to find it.

I made Christmas gifts for everyone

In metal/woodshop class I made key hooks. Daddy's has a Dallas Cowboy's star but see below my granparents all have Texas inside theirs.

In photography I made mousepads for everyone. They are all different!

And in wood shop I made my mom salad spoons.

Bird Houses

Last Christmas I came up with the idea to make something for my grandparents for Christmas.
My mom found some bird house plans online and printed them for me. Dad helped me a little on the first one but I made one for each set of grandparents and by the time I started on the second one I really knew what I was doing. Today the bird houses still look great and birds are living in them. They seem to prefer mine to the "store bought" houses. There have been several sets of babies born in them.
